East Coast Park - Best Place to Travel

hi guys, welcome to another episode of tsl vlogs. today, in collaboration with wantedly, we are going to be exploring singapore to find the coolest offices. what is your definition of a cool office? honestly, it consists of three factors,

East Coast Park

East Coast Park, the job, the people and the environment. so zhin, what is like a cool office to you - what is the perfect environment for you? perfect ah?

must have cat. must have bed. must have shower. must have food. must have free food. damn specific! so today we're going to give you an exclusive sneak peak, of some of the coolest offices in singapore. let's go!

so right now, we're at style theory, style theory is actually a company that rents out clothing - and i've never ever seen so much clothes in an office before. it's almost like a walk in wardrobe, it's insane. so we're going to go and ask some of the staff, what they do on a day-to-day basis. maybe we can get q to actually try on some of the designer brands? maybe, maybe. zhin, there's a human being there.

let's go and disturb her! what are you guys doing here. so i'm the content and social media lead, so i handle everything like content strategy to social media stuffs. so what is your favourite part about working here. i think it's the people. i think the people here are very friendly and they are very passionate about their work. so, we work very closely with each other. even though we are from different departments,

we often have meetings together and we go for lunch together. how is it working in a place where there's so many clothes? is it like shopping everyday? yeah, kind of. i handle new arrivals so i always get to see the first dibs. sometimes you know, you just try on. okay, so right now we're here at shopback which is a startup company, that provides up to 30% for their customers when you use their services. so in other words,

it's like when you shop but you get cashback, get it? shopback! okay, so zhin what is your first impression of this office? honestly, it is huge. in a sense whereby it's so open. it's like a friggin' playground. ya! and it's very bright and very bubbly. i think it kinda reminds me of tsl, but like a bigger scale because they actually have a foosball table like us,

and they have a ping pong table and mahjong table. cc boss of tsl, please buy us a mahjong table. plus right, they have a piano at the pantry. ya, over there! it's like when you stress - then you go there and like - so right now, we're going to get a little mini tour from one of the staff members, so let's go get her! my name is camille and i'm shopback's office manager. so we will start here.

so shopback actually started on 2014. you can see me over there, i'm the one in red. so actually, i was one of the first few interns. so if you see here, we actually have our booking portal. cool! to see whether the meeting rooms are taken or not. what's interesting is this was made by one of our interns. wah!

my favourite part. we actually stopped by here already i love how she said, which everyone prefers because the alchohol is here. he is so excited to see you. jon: lonely or not? ya, very lonely. any female hamsters, shout out to shopback. why did you join shopback? i was like one of the first few users of shopback.

so when it was time to graduate, i thought like it would only be fitting if i joined the company that i really loved, right? you are a loyal customer. ya, super loyal! how much cashback do you have in your account? it's embarassing. just say, just say. so i shop a lot lah. are you ready for it?

let's go on to the next location. so right now, we're actually in hipvan! hipvan provides furniture solutions for home owners. so the difference between this office and the previous offices, is that this office - like slightly cosier with like sofas, a table and plants. actually, we are very surprised that this kind of office, such a well designed office is located in an industrial area. i have a question.

yes, what is your question? how does a furniture office furnish their office? i'm elaine, i'm the furniture buyer. i'm wenda, i'm in charge of like branding and goods. so what is your favourite spot in the office? spot? that sofa over there. why that sofa? why so specific?

i mean there are so many sofas around the office by the way. is there a particular seat that you always sit at? what's your favourite part about working here? the furniture ah? there is no fixed working hours. as long as we finish our job. woah, sounds great. sounds like damn good ah! cc my boss -

just kidding. so now we're going to have a very special guest. he is very important here. okay ready? he is coming. hello! nice to meet you. hi mr xander. hi! how long have you been working here?

okay, cool. what is the culture like here? yes, the answer is yes for culture. last question. do you like it here? okay, thank you! thank you for watching. end of talk show.

see ya. say bye bye! bye bye! yes! jon: so since we have a photo studio and some props at our disposal, yes. jon: today's challenge at hipvan, jon: you guys have to compete to sell that piece of furniture behind you. jon: and you have to get the best photo okay?

easy. easy peasy. i'm just going to choose something. maybe i'll hold a bowl? then like "hey, i'm eating cereal on my couch like - " that's my strategy. my strategy is to put as many food as though i'm eating - a buffet on the couch. this stone here. q: your props suck!

q: this string is not part of hipvan! don't touch it! zhin looks like he is angry at the couch on this one. this looks like he just landed on the couch, very aggressively - probably causing it damage. oh my god, this one damn cannot sia. the sofa brings her joy clearly. a little too much joy actually - it worries me. i think for this competition,

the winner obviously has to be zhin but for 2 reasons. your photography really sucks! so actually right, q did a decent job but your photography was just terrible. so actually, she win in photography, you win in modelling. so together, you guys make a good team. great job. now get out of frame. so now we're done with hipvan and we'll move on to our next location.

bye! so right now we are at quorier which is a logistics tech firm - and they focus on same day delivery. so basically right, have ever you wondered how courier services work, and the people behind it? so we are going to take a look around, and have a little tour with one of the staff members. i'm clara, the marketing manager for qourier. what is your favourite part about working here?

okay, on fridays we do have quite a bit of fun stuff. one initiative we have is called the #foodtourfridays what we do is we venture out of this area, and we explore other food places and we review them - on ourn blog and instagram. is there like an interesting area here? within the building, we have a swimming pool - and gym, sauna and yoga deck. and it's all for free?

oh my god! i would love that. okay so right now, we're actually at the rooftop of the building- and it's friggin' amazing. it's huge eh! look at the swimming pool! i would love to have a swimming pool at my office. but honestly, i think right - this place is super spacious,

and if you want to #ootd, you can actually take it with like the scenery over there or over there. okay, since ya'll say until like that right, let's do a part 2 of the modelling challenge. sell me this rooftop! sell me! sell me that thing. yes, that's beautiful. the chin,

too much! too much of the chin. wow, zhin looking good once again. if you pointed your finger out right - you know that god painting? the greek god painting. based on the photos right, it looks like her prop is trying to kill her. she trying to like fight it off terrible choice and use of props.

the winner is... aiya, just give zhin lah. he handsome lah. the winner of this contest is... q, i'd like to thank you for participating but the winner is, zhin! well hello there! so right now, we are at wework,

which is a co-working space, where wantedly is situated at. so what wantedly does is it connects people, to different companies based on their passion so potential employees and arrange casual visits to different companies and organisations, to find out more about the culture, environment and the people there. so it's kind of like you getting to know the company before even going for the job. so, we are going to check wantedly right now, and they're just over there!

alright, so we have amin here. can you introduce yourself and tell us what wantedly is about? amin here again. wantedly is a social recruitment platform, we connect talents and companies based on passion and interest. we position talents in a position of power, so amin, can you tell us more about the casual visits? visits today primarily is to change the way interviews are held. interviews today, when you go in, you a bit kan chiong

then you give your cv, so, we want to make it more informal. a casual visit is like you having coffee with the hiring manager. you ask a little bit more in terms of his/her personal life, what they have done during the weekend, with the main intention of trying to break the ice. so that you can tell him/her how best you can contribute to the company. so that's what visits are all about. so what made you actually want to join wantedly?

that's a very good question that you brought up. it's very much aligned to motivations, and why i even go to work every single day. my motivation here is actually to be able to add value, or bring value to people and organizations. so in an organization like wantedly today, if i can match you for example to a company, that would be one of the most meaningful things i've done in my life. and to be able to do that,

that's really a drive so touched right now. so we have come to the end of the day. no! out of all the offices today, which one was your favourite? my favourite is probably shopback. because i like the fact that the pantry has a friggin' piano and the pantry is like - i don't know it's just like heaven for me lah.

you just like food a lot. i really like! plus, they have like foosball table, and on top of that, as a person i prefer an open environment for me to work in. and it's actually very bright and bubbly but for me, i think my 2nd choice is wantedly. wah you got 2nd choice! because it's actually situated in a co-working space,

where everyone is a big community, and you get to know more people from different companies as well. but did you know that out of all the 5 companies today, all of them are actually hiring. check out sg.wantedly.com, and there is a list of all the companies that are hiring. so if you want to see more companies, and go for casual visits, you can also download their app at,

wantedly visit on ios so thank you guys for watching this video. if you liked this episode, don't forget to, like, share & subscribe. and watch our other videos over there.
